Een volle rijke wijn (ondanks geen houtrijping) die de karakteristieken van de chardonnay mooi tot zijn recht laat komen... met frisse zuurtjes in de afdronk
We work with two vineyards for this Pinotage, one based in Northern Stellenbosch and the other in Voor Paardeberg, approaching 20 years old respectively. The former on sandy and very heavily decomposed quartz and granite soils, the latter on weathered, granite derived soils.
The vines that produce this attractive blend are grown in rocky, Koffieklip (heavily decomposed granite) soils. Both varieties are grown on South-East facing slopes, overlooking False bay with cooling ocean breezes.
Our two mature Syrah vineyards are planted on the decomposed granite soils of the Helderberg mountainside overlooking False Bay. Here the vines benefit from the cooling breezes of the famous Cape Doctor, the South-Easterly wind which blows off the ocean only a few kilometres away. The rocky, gravelly soil helps to produce balanced and finely textured wines which show restrained fruit, lovely spice and fynbos notes.
From the beautiful regions of Stanford and Stellenbosch where beauty knows no bounds. This
elegant Pinot Noir shows freshness and ripe fruit. The berries were removed, intact, from the stems and transported to fermentation tanks by employing a gondola hoist system
developed to ensure the most gentle treatment of the whole berries.
