Typishce Stellenbosch Sauvignon Blanc, tropische stijl, fris en aromatish, geen bitters, heerlijk wijntje
Intense aromas of tropical fruit with granadilla and white peach. Zesty and flinty on the palate with the ever present herbaceous character from Sauvignon Blanc.
Initial aromas of lime and citrus zest are beautifully intertwined with guava and tropical fruit. These flavours follow on the palate, and combined with the rich texture and elegant minerality, ensures a very long finish.
Menuwijn pur sang !!
This dry Rosé shows a light salmon colour. Vibrant aromas of strawberry and stone fruit give way to a fresh palate with good acidity and an elegant finish.
This Cabernet show lots of red fruit and crushed herbs on the bouquet. The palate follows with ripe cranberries and just enough tannin to give the typical Cabernet “backbone”.
As always our Merlot show the typical characters of ripe red fruit followed by juicy fruit on the palate. The relatively warm and dry conditions led to a wine that is quite concentrated on the palate and has a good firm tannin profile and structure which will pair well with food. The fresh and natural acidity ensures a vibrant and lingering finish.
As always this is a very elegant expression of Pinotage. The fruit expression is of wild berries and show a lot of juicy ripe fruit on the palate with lovely floral notes on the finish.
Elegant and complex. Limey fruit with perfect oak balance and a mineral finish on the palate.
Initially showing quite a robust nose with lots of ripe dark berry fruits giving way to notes of cedar wood and spice. A dense palate which is packed with ripe fruit give one idea to expect a burly heavy wine, however, the fine grained tannins and lively acidity ensure a very elegant palate that dances for a long lingering finish.
Although this wine has a great intensity of flavour on both the bouquet and the palate the wine is not overpowering and shows well-judged restraint. Waves of wild berry fruit give way to hints of spice and lavender on the finish. The supple tannin structure supports the wine beautifully and ensure that this wine will mature gracefully.
As always this wine displays classic Rhone elements while still maintaining its undeniable South African identity. The 2017 represents a distinct shift in approach to this wine and we have a larger portion of Shiraz in the blend but are using a lot of fruit from Shale rich soils which really accentuates the soft red fruits and floral notes that you get both on the bouquet and the palate. The palate lingers with subtle hints of spice and wild herbs.
This is a very fragrant and delicate wine, however, it still has an amazing concentration and depth of flavor. A bouquet of fresh strawberries and a little spice gives way to a dancing palate with fresh acidity and flavours of wild brambleberry with hints of all-spice that are perfectly balanced with a fine and supple tannin structure. On the lingering finish other subtle nuances start to show too.
