One of only three noble white grape varieties globally. It has the
smallest bunches and berries of all white varietals, thereby
imparting immense flavour and concentration to the resultant
wines. Added to this, is the distinction that few other white
varietals are able to mature to their betterment, for decades, like
the best global examples of Riesling are able to.
TASTING NOTE:
Pale straw with tinges of green, this wine opens with delicate
aromas of lilies and a stony minerality. The palate is
structured and balanced, offering mineral-driven flavours
with subtle hints of apricot. Poised to develop beautifully over
time.

Already known for our world-class Shiraz, it seems our Chardonnay is Hartenberg’s
white grape star, with its consistency in ratings and awards. Grapes were handpicked
in the early morning of each of the 7 days of picking so as to capture the subtle
primary flavours that the variety offers. Every batch from each of the morning picks
as well as those of the individual parcels were kept separate in the cellar so as to aid
quality selection when it came to assembling the final blend.
TASTING NOTE:
The bouquet showcases fresh citrus and pear aromas with a touch of
apricot. On the palate, zesty lemon and lime meet a clean mineral
edge. Crisp acidity adds brightness, while a subtle creaminess rounds
out the texture. Refreshing and refined.

The Eleanor Chardonnay honours the matriarch of the Finlayson
family who, with her husband Maurice, owned Hartenberg Estate
(then "Montagne") from 1948 to 1977. Strong and resolute in
character, yet always sophisticated and poised, who better
personifies our super-premium Chardonnay?
TASTING NOTES:
Ripe stone fruits of golden peaches and apricots
intermingled with lemon zest and minerality on the nose. The
palate displays structured acidity, notes of apples and
prominent lemon and lime with hints of walnut. A long and
lingering finish.

THE WINE:
Merlot is the foundation of the blend, providing a silky
palate and elegance, with Malbec adding vibrant fruit,
deep colour and structure.
TASTING NOTE:
Captivating aromas of rose petals, dark chocolate, and
Turkish delight, intertwined with ripe cherries and plums. On
the palate, it reveals vibrant flavours of blackberries and
cherries, accentuated by a subtle smokiness, all wrapped in
uber-fine tannins.

THE WINE:
60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Shiraz
Much like the second wines of Bordeaux châteaux, this is
ours. Specific vineyard blocks are earmarked for the blend,
while other parcels selected during our rigorous grading
process also contribute. Produced since 1990.
TASTING NOTE:
Bright aromas of strawberries and cherries mingle with earthy,
warm spice. The palate is juicy and concentrated, echoing
the same vibrant red fruit, while the spice adds depth and
seriousness. A long, fruit-driven finish leaves a lasting
impression.

THE WINE:
An expression of what Hartenberg Estate is able to do with
Shiraz in a younger, more modern and upfront wine style.
The Shiraz fruit is all Estate grown and includes younger
parcels of Shiraz which are wonderfully expressive and offer
earlier accessibility
TASTING NOTE:
Fine white pepper, dark forest berries and whiffs of caramel
on the nose. The palate displays blackberries and
cranberries with a savoury touch. Fine tannins allow for a
long finish.

Deep, alluring ruby red, presenting a smoky nose with striking red
fruits and enticing notes of liquorice. The palate is silky smooth,
with taut, fine tannins reminiscent of a tightened bow. Flavours of
tart cherries are layered with vanilla and a subtle savoury
undertone. Decanting is recommended for immediate
enjoyment, or cellar for 5 to 15 years to fully appreciate its
evolution and complexity.

TASTING NOTE:
Floral aromas with a dark, brooding edge lead into notes of
blackberry, mulberry, sage and a touch of leather. The
palate is medium-full, supported by well-developed
tannins, with a fresh, juicy finish that carries the fruit
confidently to the end.

Aromas of plum, cranberry, and raspberry layer subtle
fynbos and mocha. The palate is richly textured, revealing
concentrated dark fruit. Refined tannins carry through to a
long, poised finish.
